Hello, Disney Fans! Today, let’s talk about the Tokyo Disney Hack on waiting time.
Previously, we explored the differences between Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea in detail. And i mentioned there’s a way to skip the long waiting lines. Since i am SO not good at waiting in line, i tried all three methods that we can use. So today, I’m going to tell you the average wait time for popular rides at Tokyo DisneyLand and Sea. And at the same time, let’s take a closer look at how to reduce wait times using DPA, SP, and the 40th anniversary Pass! Plus, i’ll share a little hack to cut wait times beyond those three passes.
Decision is totally up to you. But it’s always better to know every option you can have to make the best memories 🙂 Right?
Average wait times for famous rides
First of all, Let me introduce you the most famous rides at each parks.

For, Tokyo Disneyland, number one ride is a ‘Beauty and the Beast’ with no doubt. Since there are huge fan of the movie ‘beaty and the beast’ and princess Bell is also one of the popular among the Disney princesses. Of course the ride was so romantic and fascinating. And ‘Baymax’, ‘Splash Mountain’, ‘Bit Thunder Mountain’, ‘Monsters, Inc.’, ‘Pooh’s honey Hunt’ and more.
Average wait time for ‘the Beauty and the Beast’ is 150 mins. I visited Tokyo Disneyland at the Christmas eve, and I was the wait time goes up to 180 mins. But during your wait, they have prepared every little detail on the Castle so won’t feel too long… I hope!
And the others are almost from 50 minutes to 80 minutes. Make sure you keep your eyes on the wait time so if it gets short, you can run for them.

For Tokyo Disney Sea, there are so many famous and crazy rides with long long wait time. There’s ‘Tower of Terror’, ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’,’Indiana Jones Adventure’, ‘Toy Story Mania’ and more. The most famous and must-ride attraction is the ‘Tower of the Terror’ – the one I did not get to ride because of my husband who still is suffering from the memory from the past. 🤣
The average wait time for ‘Tower of the Terror’ is mostly at least 80 minutes, and max to 180 minutes. The rest of the popular rides I mentioned also reach up to 2 hours on weekends or holidays.
But the most popular and famous rides are in Fantasy Springs. As I mentioned in the earlier post, Fantasy Springs is a newly opened area with Frozen, Rapunzel and Peter pan. It is sooooo famous that you need DPA or SP to get in to the area. If you don’t have the passes, you can’t get in there even if you just wanted to take a look at the area without getting on a ride. So in DisneySea, the most famous rides has the shortest wait lines.
Tokyo Disney hack to cut wait times using the Parade time
For both of the parks, there are parades twice a day. Parade is really huge for Disney fans. Even if you are not a fan of Disney, you have got to watch one of the parades. And everyone knows this – that you can’t miss the parade. SO, before and right after the show, the wait line gets short. Like really short. If you consider the routes of the parade and the wait time, you can totally save your time for at least one ride.

For me, I decided to skip the nighttime parade because I have watched the one during the daytime. And of course before the parade (like 30 minutes before the parade begins), wait line of ‘the Winnie the pooh’ got cut in half. And I ran for it. It took exactly 30 minutes for waiting, riding and of course I thought the parade was over. But when I walked out of the ride and headed to the main street, the parade was coming!!!
Yes, the Winnie the pooh was almost at the end of the parade path, so they took time to get to the end!! So I got to shorten the wait time of the ride AND get to watch the parade. 🎉🥳🎊
Even with the hack I shared, it seems a little bit too hard to get on a every rides, right? To reduce your wait time, you can use DPA, SP, or the 40th Anniversary Pass. Let’s go over one by one.
DPA (Disney Premier Access) – Paid Fast Pass
Simply put, DPA lets you buy your way to shorter wait time. There is no better way to describe DPA. For me, it felt a bit expensive but after riding ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘Toy Story Mania’, thought it was totally worth it. And they also have a premier VIP seats for the parade and the starlight night show-lazor show.
✔️You can buy 1 DPA pass from ¥1,500–¥2,000 per ride per person. And DPA is available for the rides as listed below and VIP seats for the parades.

SP (Standby Pass) – Free but Currently Unavailable
SP is a free – first come, first served – DPA. Yay! But it is currently unavailable in Disneyland but available for Disney Sea. As I mentioned earlier, you need SP to get to the Fantasy Springs. Since SP is for free, this usually sells out within a minute.
✔️ You can get another SP after using the first one.
Most likely, you are not gonna get the second SP. Because this will sell out right after the park opens.
40th Anniversary Pass – Free Priority Pass
This is just another version of SP. But to celebrate Tokyo Disney resort’s 40th year anniversary, they made this pass. Don’t know when it’s going to last till.
✔️ You can book another pass 2 hours after the first one or after using your current pass.
40th anniversary pass is also likely to sell out right after the park opens.

Tokey Disney Hacks Reacp – The Ultimate Time-Saving Guide !
Let’s go over the Tokyo Disney hacks to reduce wait times and what we need to consider.
First, the one that i figured out my self, use the parade time where people rush out to the street! But the important thing is to be aware of the parade routes so you don’t miss the parade.

Second to fourth, there is DPA, SP and 40th anniversary passes. But remember, SP and 40th anniversary pass is likely to sell out right after the park opens. Also, DPA tickets to Fantasy Springs where Frozen Journey, Rapunzel, Peter pan rides are.
So, if your target is to visit Fantasy Springs, You need to make sure you be there before the park opening time so you get the DPA or SP tickets. If NOT, your only chance is buying the DPA passes or wait in line.
